That’s a nice looking tent, but considering the less complicated and less
expensive two pole tents out there that also provide a warm, waterproof
place to spend the night for around $300 less, I’m kind of wondering who
this tent is really marketed towards. I know it’s not a very fair
comparison, but I’ve gone motorcycle camping with the $50 tent I bought at
walmart around five years ago, and it still doesn’t leak on me when it
rains. Just seems like it would be hard for a company to justify that
    extra cost.

After Serving 12 years as a US Naval Officer, I can say with absolute
certainty that US Navy SEALs have NOT, do NOT, and will NEVER carry tents
at any time during their training or deployments.

The idea this tent was developed for US Nay SEALs is a complete lie.

You are right, their customer service is crap. I love their tents though.

Good pole design but single wall tents should be avoided at all cost! Even
the really expensive gore tex single wall tents will have you sleeping
really damp and wet. Forget it for anything else than warm and dry weather,
and those times you’d be better of with just a tarp.

I would be willing to bet the opposite side door since the internal shape
“bows” out towards that door, it is for gear access from the outside or if
you have two “buckled” together, an easier entrance. However, it should
have a mesh window…kind of dumb it wasn’t added.

    All in all great review!

There’s other tents on the market half the weight, and do the same job.

Hi Luke mine comes in 5/1/14 which is tomorrow. Had to watch this one
again. Did you ever find out what this tent is made of?

Huh. This tent is identical to a 4 season tent made by Sierra Designs
around 2004-2009, the Assailant 1, except the Assailant weighed about a
pound less, didn’t have the porch cover, was bright blue and yellow and
retailed for around $325. I had an Assailant for several years and that was
a terrific tent. It could stand up to anything, except time. Eventually,
last summer, the fabric delaminated. I was heartbroken. SD replaced it
with a different 4 season tent, which was cool. Sierra Designs customer
service is great, don’t know about Mountain Hardwear.
