You can make the tarp more secure and make a drip catcher at the same time
by securing the end loops to the ridge line with a Prussic hitch at each
end, with the tarp under the ridge line instead of over it. use an Evenk
hitch or Bowline to secure the standing end of your ridge line.

Who sells those Tarps, cant find it anywhere.

Great information, I am fairly new to tarp set up and tbh I never thought
about rain coming down the ridge line, thanks for the tips

  • TheSmokinApe

What knots did you use for the ridge line? Also, why didnt you attach the
tarp to the ridge line? Thanks -Ape

  • Michael Davis

TheSmokinApe – The knots used in the video were not “real” knots, the best
useful knot, one that is easy to make and to take down would be using the
“2 Half-Hitches on one end and a Tautline Hitch (useful to make the line as
loose or taut/tight as you want it. You can you tube these knots for
demonstrations on how to use them. I was a boy scout and my son is a boy
scout and use these two knots a lot. hope this helps

You can use small rocks to make guyout points if your tarps grommets are
    widely spaced.
