I’d love to reply to some of these comments but due to the ‘awesome’
changes on youtube I can’t do that.

i have doubts about the handle….will it get loose after some use (blade
    wiggels inside the handle)?

  • Outdoors 4 Everyone

What a coincidence, I was just cleaning my knives from a outing I was on
    earlier today, I took my BK-2, BK-16, and the O.K.C. GEN2 SP-51, I just
wanted a hot cup of coffee on the open fire, it was a nice day, not as cold
as last week, then I seen this video where the guy looked for fat wood, and
we did that too, we both have good knives in the O.K.C. GEN2 SP’S, but I
will still stand by my claim, for me in my opinion the Saber Grind simply
splits better than the Full Grind, although I can’t prove that by you, your
video’s proves how good the SP-50 is, and I enjoy watching your videos,
    good job and again Thanx.

Actually, I think I miss match the knives, the SP-49 is the Saber Grind for
the SP-48 which is the Flat Grind, the SP-51 is the Saber Grind, and the
SP-50 is the Flat Grind, try to pay attention, how the wood splits apart on
the Saber Grind, my friend’s bought the Flat Grind’s, because they feel
they are better slicer’s, and they are lighter, and maybe true, but I know
for a fact, the Full Grind has more wood drag, because more blade surface
touches the wood, why do you think Nut’N uses oil on his Flat Grind’s, I
think you have an awesome knife now, in the SP-49, I use mine sometimes as
a one knife tool knife carry, although, I’m also a choil lover, because to
me it’s like carrying two knife sizes in one, that’s why, my Swamp Rat’s
are my go to set, mine all have choil’s, and the Saber Grind, good luck
with your new knife, I know you won’t regret the purchase, and Please, do a
video on it, because like you said, there aren’t any video’s on the Tube on
    that great knife.

I have the SP48 and its a fantastic knife. Only diff between the two I
think is the blade shape. It’s almost indestructible, I’ve beat the heck
out of it and it’s never chipped, takes no effort to keep it almost
shave-sharp. It’s one of my favorite knives, my go-to really for camping.
I always have a smaller one on my hip or vest but that one is always on my
hip – you get used to it really quickly. Great vid!

Then there are the SP-52, and the SP-53, I know eventually you will be
getting one of those two, the SP-53 is the Saber Grind, and it’s a beast, a
great, great chopper, the guy that designed it, call’s it a “Sharp Hamner”,
and I totally agree, it blip, blap, blams through wood, a good substitute
for a small hatchet, atleast I think so, if I know, alot of wood will be
split, because of cold weather camping, and I go with, let say my 3knife
carry, I’ll take my SP-47, 49, and the SP-53, if I use my BK-2, then the
SP-51 comes along, with maybe a saw, I luv playing around with my toy’s,
but I also pay attention to their performance, with thicker knives, where
the edges are a little thicker, I make sure my neck knife is a good wood
slicer, I will take, and I know it’s on the border line of being too heavy,
I’ll go with my Skookum Bush Tool, if not, my BK-14, or my Top’s Mini
Scandi, or my Bark River Woodland Special, work great.

Great video, and I’m not bad mouthing the SP-50, the O.K.C. knives are my
knives I know I can beat on, and they could take it, when I know, I’m going
to process alot of wood, my SP’S come along, my Becker’s have a sharper
edge, just a little sharper, but my O.K.C.’s are much tougher, but, I am a
Saber Grind guy, my SP’S are the SP-47, 49,51, and the SP-53 which is a
sharp hammer, it’s awesome, but the SP-51, over the SP-50, I know it’s
ligther, but the Saber Grind just splits wood better for me, regardless, I
know we both have great knives, keep up the great work on your videos, I
    really enjoyed it.

Whoa buddy, revisit the first few videos, and there are tons and tons of
differences compare to the presents in terms of recording them. Great job
for your improvement brother, really hope i could learn a few tricks from
    your experience

  • David Goodridge

Great review man. Just wondering what was the into song on this video?

  • wwmiv7777

I’ve had my SP50 for several months now; been camping with it a handful of
times as well. Great knife! I do wear it on my leg and don’t find it to
be a problem. I got the aftermarket kydex custom sheath and did some
customizing – worth the purchase. With the kydex sheath, I can pull it out
without messing with snaps or straps, bust through some brush, and slip it
back in the sheath – nice and snug.
