Review and testing footage of an Aranyik Enep from Thailand that i got off EBAY. Is this blade a knock off or the best money ive ever spent!? You decide. ***… Video Rating: 4 / 5
Thaipride has a lot of good aranyik machetes… I have got many off him
before with no complains… 5160 spring steels OK but very similar to 1060
…I think lots people forget that these blades are made from leaf springs
not because it the best but because its the best steel you can get for
cheap and is readily available in most country’s…. As far as I’m concern
1080/sk5 or 1074 are the best steels for machete use
from what i understand they guy in question doesnt make the blades at
all,he gets blanks where he finish the edge off and fit some scales on
it,you just cut out his profit buy buying it directly hence he is upset,i
might be wrong but there is no blacksmithing done at all on his facebook
page.
Miles has always been pretty respectful when I talk to him. but I have a
condor warlock and it pretty much fills the same niche this knife would. so
I cancelled the enep
Gear makers of all kinds are really sensitive about such things. Thing is
that sometimes a much cheaper product works just as good, and that just
burns them up. Who’s better at making things? Both the “high end” makers
and the cheap Chinese sweat shop laborers sit and make gear all day…
Material quality is the only real issue, and you proved this “knockoff” can
handle some real work, so there! I’m not into kukris at all, but I do have
a Cold Steel that I have beat the piss out of repeatedly. Got it for 20
bucks at a gun show and if I was stuck with it only I’d be just fine.
The aggressive tone looks like this company is very, very sensitive to any
implications that they might be charging too much for a quality that could
be purchased for less. This tells me that this isn’t the first time they’ve
been confronted with such a comparison, and that they think they’re losing
customers. A manufacturer who is confident with his quality and pricing
decision would laugh it off and inform you precisely why you’re “wrong”,
not shout at you and basically throw you out and bar you from the store. As
someone who has worked in retail and seen different ways of handling
customer criticism or questions from different sellers, I think I can tell
where this frustration comes from.
He is used to people ordering his products for their reputation and the
recommendations, not actually arguing or talking to customers in a
customer-friendly manner, to advertise his business.
There’s no reason not to assume there are equally skilled manufacturers at
that town, one of whom made your blade. Just because the name itself stands
for quality doesn’t mean multiple manufacturers won’t settle there and use
the same techniques. It’s the same case with Damascen and Solingen steel.
im living in Bangkok Thailand. Buying the Thai Enep from the weekend market
and shipping it to the USA is no problem. High carbon steel, full tang, 3
pins in the handle, wood handle. check out my bush craft blade video
Hey Chris I am sorry to hare that but I am glad that these more them one
shop cuz. i been looking for a good size aranyik enep for some time now
thank you and umm don’t let anyone talk crap to you.
I know who your talking about! Lol that dude is mad because he takes those
exact knives and put better handles on them and charges $200. He’s mad that
the blades he used to sell are still being sold. He tried to tell me the
other night that his demand is so high, that’s why the “waiting list”. This
is what he used to sell and did most of his videos on it. You got a good
deal, just like the other guy used to offer.
i like it. sounds to me the complaining knife maker is in a turf war with a
rival knife maker. then riding you decision making abilities. to beat you
into submission. forcing you to dislike this knife. stay vigilant. it is
the fire at your feet that make you a better man. a well tempered
character.
I was wearing flip flops the other day and hit my foot with a machete. That
is all I could think about at 13:55. But anyway might have to get one of
these. You make a great review Chris!
Nice review. Thank you and keep up the good work. Hopefully the other
company will realise the mistake and get you back on the list so you can
compare the 2.
Looks like a good blade to me. Now maybe the other company will step up to
prove theres is superior. If not makes u wonder bout there blades. Just my
opinion. Keep up the good work.
Impressive!!!! I’d say your knife is as good as the one you were dropped
from a waiting list. I wouldn’t waste my time apologizing to the jerk nor
give my money to get one from that company. I guess you had the last laugh
on this company. Great review and putting it through the rigors.
Amazing $10 Aranyik ENEP from EBAY!
