What commissions do and do not influence
Commissions keep this site running and fund the Trail Atlas. They do not decide what we recommend. We write about gear we would carry ourselves; when a product disappoints us, we say so or we do not feature it. No brand pays for placement in our guides, and no brand reviews our content before publication.
Networks and programs
We participate, or are in the process of enrolling, in affiliate programs operated by outdoor retailers and affiliate networks such as AvantLink and Awin. When a specific relationship materially affects a page, we note it on that page.
