Very nice video, I liked the tips. I really enjoyed the walk in the forest
while telling us the tips. Like someone else said, a lot of mayapples
there, we have them here also, Illinois. Thanks.
Thank you very much. I’m mostly into day hikes and even then you gotta
keep your head about you. Recently I was at Point Reyes National Sea Shore
on the Tomales Point trail (5 miles one direction, 10 miles round trip).
At the time the elk were grazing and they got pretty close. You gotta
remember to just keep walking and never allow yourself to be a threat to
them. Once at the end of the trail you are at the northern edge of
a peninsula on top of high steep cliffs. You gotta really watch
yourself especially if you’re alone. At the end of the day I was tired,
exhausted and highly recommend the hike.
Good thoughts for the most part. I certainly like going lightweight but for
me, I’ve never found ultralighting very expensive. All my set ups cost way
less than $200. I tried to show that in my last few videos but this is a
good positive approach as an intro’ into the sport. Thanks.
Great tips Luke. I especially want to emphasize your tip about just
keeping a calm head while you are out. No matter what situation arises,
the solution is almost always fairly simple if you just keep cool and use
some common sense. Along those same lines, it’s very important to learn
how to improvise. Sometimes we may forget a piece of gear or some other
situation may arise that we did not forsee but many times you can handle
that by simply improvising…example: I once forgot to take my rain jacket,
thunderstorms came up, so I made a makeshift poncho from a 42 gallon trash
bag I just happened to have in my truck, worked so well I started carrying
one of those bags in my pack all the time! 99% of what you will encounter
comes down to using common sense! Thanks for sharing your ideas, as always
I enjoyed the video!
What if you meet like some amazing girl in the middle of the forest and
you’ve prenupped your wife over the phone before you went hiking, and now
you hike with this new women and a preacher is standing there in the woods
for no reason, ready to marry people who walks by. How embarrassed would
you be then if you don’t bring your ring. Take it with you.
About the battery brick idea, what are your thoughts about some of the
smaller solar panels that have been popping up? Any comments on them?
Great video! Looking to get back out on the trails again soon.
I have the soloms XA 3D ultras. Water proof. For 100$ there amazing. 100%
water proof. Comfortable soles out of the box. Your feet don’t sweat to bad
after there broken in. Amazing shoes

bears in this country but take the advice for your situation.

outdoors and have been planning camping and hiking trips for the upcoming
