I use a Military Large A.L.I.C.E. Pack with frame when I go hiking. Its the
most dependable pack I’ve ever had, baught it on ebay for $32.00 can’t beat
that for the price.

I have the same bag/pad combo. Got them off steap and cheap in 2008. They
are a little much for my needs but I do like them. Using for January 2014
overnight and again in Feb. I don’t really do winter camping that much so
I have never used them in the field.
