I served in the Marines as a grunt. My personal favorite time to camp is
the winter. The colder the better. Some items ya might want to consider
bringing along a tomahawk. RMJ Tactical makes a fine tomahawk. It would aid
you greatly in wood chopping and such. Taking a bit of petroleum jelly and
some cotton balls (or a like material) makes for a great fire starter even
in wet weather.
you were lucky, over here in Ar. you can have wild hogs in your camp. as
for coffee, I don’t drink instant. I carry a coffee pot, nylon hose
sections and ,”real” coffee
I loved this video. I enjoyed the sense of isolation. The woods are a
great escape from the pressures of life in general. I no longer am able to
hike but I still love taking my little S10 Chevy down by the lake or river
and camping out. Instant coffee, to me, is the best way to go. It’s the
best use of a sometimes limited fresh water supply and much more space
efficient. I buy stuff that has been used and have had good luck with it.
Just be sure to ask questions and look for a decent return policy. Thanks

Hey Luke,
Quick tip… Folgers & Maxwell House (maybe others) make coffee ‘tea bags’.
Should be able to find in your local grocery store… but if not, you can
find online. Just boil your water, place (coffee bag) in and it brews in
about 5 minutes. Can add packets of sugar and/or the little single-serve
flavored (liquid) creamer packets you can pick up at the grocery
store/Meijer/etc. – which don’t have to be refrigerated. Again, if you
can’t find at your local store, you should be able to find online. MUCH
better than instant coffee… maybe not as good as Keurig/Tim
Hortons/Starbucks/etc… but the best I’ve found without having to pack in
any more weight.
Great video. Enjoy the ‘Adventure Videos’ – with gear testing mixed in.
I enjoy winter camping. Nothing beats sleeping in underwear in a mummy bag
on a cold winter’s night.
I’d love to reply to some of these comments but due to the ‘awesome’
changes on youtube I can’t do that.
I use a Perk Pot when I’m out camping. It’s a small one and only makes 8
cups but that’s about perfect for us.
For Instant Coffee the best is Nescafe Gold.

Taster’s Choice – better than sawdust because it mixes with water!
I like the Esbit coffee maker,a little heavy for backpacking but it’s my
only luxury.

everything starts to wake up. blossom ect
Take the fallen limbs dude, not the young trees.
