    I wonder how this stove would perform without the solid bottom plate and
    the vented plate placed on the very bottom. Maybe just rest the solid
    plate on the ground. hmm.

    Very nice idea for a Hobo stove BUT: Unlike the Firebox which is One
    complete unit, this stove comes in 6 pieces all of which can be MISPLACED:
    You lose even one part of this stove you’re pretty much toasts and there
    goes your camping/Backpacking trip! The Firebox opens up in one unit,every
    part is self-contained and no parts to lose,heavy to carry but built like a
    tiger tank! This stove looks flimsy and it looks cheaply made even though
    it’s very light regardless if it’s made in Deutschland! I know the Germans
    are better than that…..pretty much anything they made lasts and made of
    great quality by their quality control and renowned workmanship which their
    hallmark…but this!? REALLY!!!??
